The PyCon Program Committee is pleased to announce that the PyCon 2012 talks have officially been selected and announced. The talks will be presented on the main three days of the conference - March 9th, 10th and 11th. As in past years, we will have 5 tracks, and a mix of 30 and 45 minute presentations.

She is also an advisor for HFOSS, IntraHealth Open and Open Source for America, as well as founder and president of Kids on Computers, a nonprofit organization setting up computer labs in developing countries.
She is passionate about open source software and educates companies and communities on how open source software is changing the software industry. She is a compelling speaker who engages her audiences during and after her presentations - and has spoken at OSCON, GUADEC and other conferences. We're very pleased to announce our first Plenary speaker - David Beazley! David is an independent software developer and book author living in the city of Chicago. Primarily working on programming tools, provide custom software development, and teach practical programming courses for software developers, scientists, and engineers. He is best known for his work with the Python programming language where he have created several open-source packages (e.g., Swig and PLY) and authored the acclaimed Python Essential Reference.
Recently, David is the mad genius behind the mind blowing Python GIL at PyCon 2009 and the followup PyCon 2010 talk on understanding the Python GIL talk at PyCon 2010 and his diabolical PyCon 2011 Using Python 3 to Build a Cloud Computing Service for my Superboard II. Today the PyCon staff and the Python Software Foundation are happy to officially kick off PyCon 2012, the 10th annual PyCon US conference, happening in Santa Clara, March 7th-15th. We are very proud to launch with a vibrant, refreshed site, updating the overall look and feel and reflecting the energy of the conference and community.
PyCon 2012 is going to pull out all the stops! We want to host the best community conference in the Python community, bar none. Holding the conference in California, so near the biggest technology hub in the United States and with easy access to international travel, means that we expect to break our previous records for attendance.
