Thomas is a machine learning researcher. His research focuses on applying existing models to real-world humanitarian and social applications. He is currently working with researchers at MIT CSAIL to develop models to assess and localize damage in imagery. He is also working with researchers at McGill University to develop models to predict sea ice drift velocity in the Arctic. He is passionate about AI for humanitarian and social good. To that end, he is the head of outreach at Climate Data Hub, where he is helping to develop tools to help researchers gain access to climate-related data.
