Niall O'Higgins is Director of Platform Engineering at Catch.com, Inc. He is also the founder and primary organizer of the San Francisco Python Web programming meet-up, PyWebSF.

Niall designed and implemented the Catch.com platform backend using Nginx, Python, Pylons, Amazon S3 and MongoDB. This system handles all requests from Catch.com's Android, iPhone/iOS, and Web client applications, as well as from third party developers.

Prior to Catch.com, Niall was at Metaweb Technologies who developed Freebase.com (now owned by Google). There he worked on many of the problems associated with trying to build a database of all the world's knowledge.
