Michael Carter
Michael Carter is an active open source developer who has done significant work in the "real-time web" space, including creating the following: Orbited (http://www.orbited.org), Hookbox (http://www.hookbox.org), CSP (http://orbited.org/csp).
Michael wrote the initial HTTP Handshake for the WebSocket protocol which is now in most major browsers, and he is recognized for his work by the W3C in the HTML5 specification.
