Paul is the deputy director of technology at the Democratic National Committee, where he is helping to bringing start-up ideas and methods (and Python) to the world of politics and campaigns. He co-founded EveryBlock in 2007, a Knight News Challenge-funded start-up which msnbc.com acquired in 2009.

Paul calls Baltimore, Maryland home and resides there with his wife and infant daughter.
