Abstract

This is a hands on workshop where you'll learn everything you need to know about getting started with Arduino and Python. Arduino recently became the coolest kid on the block among developers and now everyone wants to work with hardware. During this session, hardware loving Sendgridders Swift & Martyn will help you get from zero to ""Hello World"" and beyond.

Just some of the areas covered will be:

  • Basic Overview: What is an Arduino?
  • Hello World: Working with LEDs
  • Talking to your Arduino with Python
  • Buttons and sensors
  • Using APIs w/ your Arduino
  • Hack things from around the house!

Requirements:

A Unix/Mac environment on your laptop will be required. If you've already got an arduino or any LEDs, wires or bits of kit, bring it along!
