I've been writing Python in scientific programs for four years. I'm currently at the Space Telescope Science Institute where we use Python and its scientific libraries for Hubble Space Telescope observation planning, data calibration, and data analysis.

I also volunteer with Software Carpentry where I teach software engineering skills and develop curriculum materials. As part of our free bootcamps we teach shell, Python, version control, and general software engineering techniques.

I'm the lead developer of the SnakeViz and brewer2mpl packages, as well as a contributor to the AstroPy project.

I blog on Python and other topics at Pen and Pants.
