Change the future

Shashank Bharadwaj

Shashank is a graduate student (masters) at the University of Colorado, Boulder. He has been working on Jython to make the runtime faster using "invokedyanmic" introduced with Java7. He is also working on implementing "Gradual Typing" in Jython, where type-annotations can be provided in Python source and these annotations are verified at compile time and enforced at runtime. Using such type-annotations the Jython compiler also generates type-specialized code, resulting in highly optimized byte code that performs significantly better.

He is also working on a Python3 module for gradual typing (called gradual in PyPi) that provides the run-time semantics of gradual typing for the Python language.
