Details have been forwarded to all attendees. # Python Language Summit 2019 The Python Language Summit is an event for the developers of Python implementations (CPython, PyPy, Jython, and so on) to share information, discuss our shared problems, and — hopefully — solve them. These issues might be related to the language itself, the standard library, the development process, status of Python 3.8 (or plans for 3.9), the documentation, packaging, the website, et cetera. The Summit focuses on discussion more than on presentations. We received numerous topic proposals from Python core developers as well as from members of the wider Python community, all are very interesting and important. We have selected a number of topics to be discussed and as lightning talks. ## Schedule 10:00 AM **Welcome, introductions** 10:15 AM **Lightning talks**, round 1 (Pre-selected lightning talks) 11:00 AM **Python on other platforms**, Russell Keith-Magee 11:30 AM **Time Zones in the Standard Library**, Paul Ganssle 12:00 PM **Batteries Included, But They're Leaking**, Amber Brown 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM **Lunch** 1:30 PM **History of CircuitPython**, Scott Shawcroft 2:00 PM **Dynamic extension module objects**, Petr Viktorin 2:30 PM **PEP 581 / PEP 588**, Mariatta 3:00 PM **break** 3:30 PM **Feedback on mentoring Python contributors**, Victor Stinner 4:00 PM **Lightning talks**, round 2 (sign up onsite) 6:30 PM **Dinner** ### Pre-selected Lightning Talks (10:15 AM - 11 AM) - **Python 3.9 release cadence**, Łukasz Langa - **The Night's Watch is fixing the CIs in the darkness for you**, Pablo Galindo Salgado, Víctor Stinner - **Writing stdlib C extension modules in Python?**, Jukka Lehtosalo - **Asyncio and the Case for Re-entrancy**, Jason Fried - **Async REPL and async-exec**, Matthias Bussonnier - **Optimising CPython, or not.**, Mark Shannon We are at full capacity and we’re not able to accept additional invitation requests to the language summit.
