The importance of computing in the Physical and Computational Sciences cannot be overemphasized. As freshmen in Physics and Computational Science, we took an exciting Python programming class and decided to undertake a fun project beyond the scope of the class. The project, which we titled the “Battle of Trafalgar”, involves a simplified visualization of the confrontation between two ships at war and how the laws of Physics play in. Our work presents our experience in learning Python and coding for the aforementioned project. We were amazed at the ease of coding that Python provided in developing such a fun application that strengthens our understanding of the basic laws of Physics.
